A TRIBUTE TO
JACQUES Y. COUSTEAU
PLAQUE PLACED ON THE WRECK
OF THE HMHS BRITANNIC DURING
THE 1997 EXPEDITION IN HONOR
OF CAPTAIN JACQUES COUSTEAU
I always had a facination with the sea. It was not until
I became an avid viewer of the Undersea World of
Jacques Cousteau that I really became interested in
S.C.U.B.A. Diving. So on a trip to Puerto Rico, I became
lured into the world of diving through a hotel course,
followed by a reef dive. I followed up the hotel course
by becoming a Y.M.C.A. Certified Open Water Diver
back in Abington, Pennsylvania in 1970. Over the
years, I followed the travels of Captain Cousteau and
the crew of the "CALYPSO" and I saw the good that
he was trying to instill into the minds of the public.
Like John Denver sang in the song, Calypso;
"To live on the land, we must learn from the sea."
