The "DYVI PACIFIC" entered the lock
and the gates were closed and the
water level was raised. The last gates
were opened and we cleared the lock.
Photographs showing how a ship enters into a set of locks and
the water level is either raised or lowered. Once the ship enters
into the lock, it is moved into  position and stabilized by electric
"mules". Once the water level is changed and the gates open,
the "mules" pull the ship forward and then the ship continues
under its own power.
