| PRE-CRUISE CHECK LIST FOR CHARTER BOATS |

| Before you leave the dock with your Charter Boat, you should thoroughly check over the boat and equipment. Here is a list of what to check. |

| PERSONAL FLOATATION [ ] Life Jacket for each person [ ] Throw Ring FIRE EXTINGUISHERS [ ] Locate all fire extinguishers and make sure they are charged DISTRESS SIGNALING [ ] Check Flares, Sound Producing Device and Mirror NAVIGATION LIGHTS [ ] Make sure all Navigation Lights are opoerational. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM [ ] Locate Electrical Breakers, check all switches and accessories. [ ] Check Interior and Exterior Lights [ ] Check the Batteries. Make sure water level is full and check cables. MECHANICAL [ ] Check engine(s) and Generator (Oil, Transmission Fluid, Cooling Fluid levels) [ ] Check Water Intake Strainer ANCHORING AND DOCKING [ ] Check the Anchor and Rode. Make sure they are easily accessable. [ ] Check Docking Lines and make sure you have enough. BILGES [ ] Check to be sure Bilges are reasonably dry and that Bilge Pumps are working. [ ] Clean up any spills or waste to prevent accidental overboard discharge WATER SYSTEM [ ] Make sure all water faucets are working and not leaking. [ ] Check Hot Water Heater for operation and leakage. [ ] Check all water connections. HEAD(S) [ ] Check each Head and make sure toilets are working properly and not clogged. [ ] Check Hand Pumps and make sure they move free and easy. [ ] Check Intake and Discharge functions. DINGHY [ ] Check Dinghy over physically for damage and/or leaks [ ] Must have OARS, ANCHOR and LINE and BAILING BUCKET OUTBOARD MOTOR [ ] Check the Outboard Motor physically. [ ] Check Oil, Fuel Line, Propeller and Tilt Release. [ ] Start motor and let run for 5 minutes to make sure it is running alright and that the fuel is not contaminated.
